ROLE
Senior Product Designer
I was designing for some of the earliest examples of smart TVs and connected homes, pairing with researchers and publishing white papers on new opportunities in the living room and build user empathy through ethnography in the far East.
Defining new interaction paradigms for TV
I was part of a small team that designed for one of the earliest connected televisions on the market, years before the Apple TV. From setting it up to learning how to navigate it on-screen, there were no shortage of usability challenges as controlling music, videos, and communicating through a TV using a remote control was a new and novel experience.
Visualizing international research
I have a strong research background, and was tapped to create a new role which help teams glean opportunities from global research through design artifacts like shadowing, a “day in the life” diaries, vision storyboards and videos and other strategic narratives. I had the opportunity to travel to places like Shanghai and. Beijing understand the nuances of research implilcations across different continents.
